Farmhouse remodel from hell
What was I thinking?
With too much spare time on my hands and a penchant for superfluous power tools, I thought that the depths of a housing crash would be the perfect time to start a high-end farm renovation. Or not. Carefully analyzing my resources and a budget, I knew from this project would run out of funds before it ran out of ideas. My experience that budgets are made to be broken was founded upon two other farmhouse projects that almost exactly doubled their initial budgets.
Therefore, I budgeted $1,550.00 for this entire project. Even if I break the budget by 200%, as experience dictates, I'm looking forward to my new cabinets, subzero fridge, wolf range, vaulted ceilings, exposed timber frame beams, and two story rear porch. All for $3,100.00!! I had no idea I was so smart.
